Once upon a time... Part 3 (Grand finale)

After I got my epidural,  I got an instant relief.. Thank God for His wonderful creation.  Time flew by so quickly, the pain felt like eternity but yet so brief... how ironic. It wasn't that painful anymore, but this time, I felt like pushing.. everything was happening so fast.. I tried to push ... "hah hah hah push!! " cathing small breaths and push.. I think the nurse saw Elise's head  coming through and  so the nurse went to get the doctor in.

It was not too long before I told the other trainee nurses I wanted to push and the called my hubby in before that.. oh ya.. did I mention that when the aesthetician did my epi, mr hubby had to leave the room? Wonder why do they need to do that for since he is there for the delivery and I am sure giving me the epi is definitely much better than see me going through labour vaginally.. its only my back btw... Hmmm..

So back to the grand appearance by my darling princess. . She literally flew out.. Dr wasn't there, no midwife , no trained nurses.. just the trainee nurses and their teacher. Even their teacher was there looking all stunt.. she was of no help.. they all just stood there.. I could hear them getting the dr again.. and they kept saying they hadn't expect it to be so fast.. When Dr LCS came he said " why didn't you get me earlier? " the midwife then answered that she went to get the dr the first thing when she saw the baby's head. Oh well.. my darling princess just had to make an easy entrance and ease mummy's pain.

And today it's her first birthday..  it's all still clear in my memory... just like it happened yesterday...

Blessed birthday my Darling Princess Elise !!!

*ps : To my lil Princess Elise
Mummy & Daddy will always love you.
Jesus is there for you.
His Holy Spirit guiding you.
His favour shines on you.
His wisdom grows in you.
His blessings overflow in your life.

Once upon a time.... (Elise version) part 1 & 2

I have been telling myself to write my darling Elise's birth story.. keep reminding myself. . Reminding and reminding. . So alas I say this procrastination must stop and so I will do it today.

Well, it was just the weekly routine check up on the 37th week (2nd april 2012), I did the normal blood pressure reading and weighted myself and if I must recalled,  I stood at 89.8kg at that time. My first visit to the doctors was when I was about 6 or 8 weeks pregnant and was weighing about 58kg.

Then I proceed to the ladies where they had to take a sample or my urine for further test.. protein? Sugar? And yada yada.. When my turn was up, I happily went into the doctors room with the husband and littke did I know I was about to be told to admit myself.  Anyway, the doctor told me that they have detected protein in my urine and my blood pressure was very high.. I had not had any protein ib my urine before but this time it had.. neither did I havr such high blood pressure.

When I was told I need to get myself checked in, I had a shocked! Literally!! Thank God my mom was outside waiting for me and I hurriedly called her to enter the room and get a confirmation. She said "do what is necessary,  the doctor knows best". I tried to negotiate with the dr. I asked if I could come back tomorrow with my hospital bag since I weren't expecting to deliver so soon.

When the doctor checked me, the baby was already faced down not engaged, and I was already a centimetre dilated. The dr did not mention that what I had gone through was pre-eclampsia only later did I found out.

I was told to immediately to go get my urine sample again or to have my blood sample taken.. but because it was already after 5pm if not mistaken, I was sent to the E&A. I then had to wait to go in to the labour ward. I had to stay in the non active labour room. I stay there from 2nd april to the 4th where I then gave birth to my Darling Elise.

I had 3 pills inserted into me to help quicken the dilation process, 2 a day max, when I checked in it was about 6 ish pm and the doctor gave instructions to only insert it in at about 10ish.. (so there goes the first day & nite) I had a sleepless night that night although throughout my whole pregnancy I slept like a baby each night. The nurses had to visit me every other hour, the chattering of the nurses just outside, people giving birth in the middle of the night. I just lay down the bed, eager, nervous, in a lil teeny weeny bit of pain ( when the contractions kicked in not even in full force) helpless... They came and gone.. delivered .. baby crying out for the first time.. it was all I ever heard. Being in a labour room for that many days, I couldn't even catch a shut eye.. if it wasn't for the equipment that was attached to me.. I would've walked about.. but unfortunately dur to doctors & nurses order I was bed confined due to the high bp. Thank God I was allowed to take a shower and change.. otherwise I might have been a stinko in hospital.. The third day came, I was dilated only at 2 cm , and doctor's order were that if I hadn't been fully dilated I had to be induced and that the water bag will be burst indefinitely. I was the second patiebt to be doing that during my stay there. The first, however had to undergo emergency c-sec as it was too long.

When it came for my turn, I was nervous wreck. I pray alot during this time. God Please Be With Me. I want a quick delivery just like my mom's. This was what I meditated. I took my shower one last time, did a squat( well maybe a few) and got myself ready. When I went into the active labour room, the doctor was not there yet, he was scheduled to come in at 9 so there I was all clean and ready and hubby by my side. He kept me company and giving me all the positive energy I can get. An embarrassing moment would be that during my turn, there were 3 student nurses waiting to see a good show! I had to say Yes! When they told me that they will be 'sitting' in to watch. I had a chat with them and 2 were pretty young and there was one who was a mother of 2. She kinda did tell me 'hei , it's ok, don't worry about it'. I had very much wanted a pain free child birth and a drug free birth as possible. I first opt for the gas when the pain kicked in, the midwife taught me to breathe with it. She was a fairly obese lady I would say. Not many around that ward, her name? Madeline or something similar to it. She seemed unfriendly at first but was later quite nice. Hmmmm At about 10 ish everything was up, the drip that was used to induce me is finally working. Then it started to contract.. short and shorter intervals... the strength was getting unbearable.. Thank God again for the hubby to be there! I couldn't stand the pain, at least I thought.. the nurse ( Madeline) rubbed more salt into the wound. . She told me ' u better take the epidural, u can't stand so long, it wont be that fast. Take it ' there goes my motivation of not taking any painkiller.. after hubby asked me a few times if I wanted it. I kept persisting "NO" but right after I hear her saying that.. gone la my motivation. I finally succumbed to her brainwash. Take it, take it . U can't stand it. Finally, I could stand no more I told them to get the aesthetician. I need to get myself numbed! To be continued. ...

Keepsake for Elise~

Awhile ago (maybe when Elise was 2 months-ish) my aunt asked me to keep a journal for Elise. Keeping records of the little little things that Elise would do, not only her milestones but her cute lil actions such as clasping both her hands while she sleeps. My aunt was reminiscing hers when she told me that. She wrote a diary of what her daughter did during that time, for a year! And after that she stopped. My aunt kept asking me to do a similar one for Elise, and i told her.... i'll do it online. I wanted to start it during Elise's 100th days .. but obviously i slacked. It would be nice to blog about my lil princess' tiny lil steps.. :)

And here it goes~

Day 137 :- Elise's maiden outing, roadtrip, sleepover, travel....
It was due to the long raya holidays that we decided to take a trip down central to visit Elise's uncle. We left after work at about 7ish and reached damansara at about 11ish.. I thank God that she was such a sweetie that she sleep through the whole way and by the time we reached, she was a waken by the noises of her cousins as well as her aunt and uncle. She then went back to bed at 12ish.

She was able to sleep anywhere and not 'recognising' the place.

Day 138 :- We were suppose to go up Genting Highlands but did not go up there till late in the evening and only had dinner then we made our way back home. :) Again she was fast asleep.. My sleeping beauty... hehe.. Mummy (Me) was very happy that day too, cos daddy had to renew his membership so he bought mummy a gift.. :) ** Thanks hubby~ <3 5="5" and="and" boba.="boba." for="for" god="god" hours..="hours.." in="in" it..="it.." managed="managed" morning="morning" nap="nap" nbsp="nbsp" out="out" p="p" she="she" shopping="shopping" sleep="sleep" thank="thank" the="the" to="to" twice="twice" walked="walked" we="we" were="were">
Day 138 :- Went to Church in the morning and we went back to take a nap after that and only went out for dinner at about 5ish, that again... 5 hours of walking and carrying Elise in the Boba... I must say, it is better to have a SSC than a stroller!

Day 142 :- She managed to turn herself so many times today that when we went back home, and as i left her alone on the bed, she TURNED! again.. and thank God she's in the middle of a King Size Bed.. *Note to self ** don't leave Elise on the bed alone without setting up a barricade just in case she falls off the bed..  Oh ya! and she's now trying to push herself upwards when she's on her tummy.. She managed to do a 180 degrees turn when on her tummy.. its definitely an action to say 'YAY'!!

*i will take video the next time~

Welcoming the Boba back home.. Teehee..

Yay!! Got my Boba today!
I got the kangaroo print and i hope its gonna be good for me for carrying my darling girl.
After trying the Boba from lunatots, they gave me a discount of RM50 off the rack price of RM438.. I would say its the cheapest in the market.. I hope i don't underutilise this SSC.
Anyway, during the time when i tried the Boba i was in fact carrying my Darling Girl (DG) the wrong way.. As i read in its instruction booklet newborn are from 7lbs to 14lbs.. Which is 7kgs.. And i have to put her in the frog position. . Which i didn't when i tried it.. I dunno if Shes comfortable being in d frog position?  ive never tried and she stiffen her legs whenever i try to cross her legs..
I guess i just have to practice wearing her more often then or atleast till she's 7kgs!!! Woots!!!

*Sorry pic is wrong side.

4th Month Follow Up with Dr. Pong ~ :-)

Today marks the day my lil darling went for her 4th month follow up on her vaccinations. She's 4 months and 11 days to be exact. Why the delay in taking it now instead of exactly four months??  It was because our Dr.  was on leave during the 2nd month's visit. Well... for the last jab for hep B vax, we've moved it earlier so it will be back to exactly 5 mths then.. which will fall on 5th of sept. :)

She's now 6.04kg and growing well. At the age of 2 months plus, her weight was 4.81kg. after 2 months, she's now 6.04kg!! WeEeEEee, i'm so happy each time her weight is taken. That is because i will know how much my darling is weighing, hmm... but she seems heavier to me... my arms can't really carry her too long anymore as she's heavier now. (WeEeeEeEee.. i'm so happy she's put on weight and going into the 5th month). She has also grown taller by 4.5cm. Hopefully when we visit the Drs again she will put on more. It'll be delightful to see her cheerfully growing, happily playing, cheekily smiling, cooing and gurgling at me and everyone that calls to her.

She has yet to turn completely by her own yet as i see that she hardly wants to turn. She will turn to one side completely but she doesn't face down. Maybe its because of our bed? Its rather soft and has this 'lumps' and 'holes' which in my opinion makes her harder to turn. But with a lil help... she's on her hands and feet. If on the flat surface yeah.. she can pretty much turn on her own, just that she doesn't do it often. Maybe once a day? Well, i guess the number will increase with the passing days.. till then, i'm still a very happy mummy who is still 'free' ( not having to monitor her for fearing that she will turn and fall off the bed or knocking her head on the wall if she's too near the wall )

I've also not put on her mittens during day time for a few days now.. its better, she's not got cold fingers nowadays as compared to the initial times when it was removed. :)

And this is my lil girl today after her jab..  at her 'day room'.

I made my own soaps. ... WeeeEeEeEeeeEEEee

I recently attended a handmade soap class, they taught use how to make our own dishwashing soap, and 2 types of body and facial soap one of which is an olive oil soap and another is goats milk soap with shea butter. I thoroughly enjoyed the class although it was tiring stirring and waiting.. But the outcome is good..  :)

The process that took place is just a very simple one whereby the ingredience are measured for us... And what we need to do is just to mix the lye water.. Then adding in the oils. . And stirring till it is trace.. It took a longer time to stir the dishwashing soap as compared to the olive Oil soap and the goats milk soap.. After completing all that and making sure it is able to 'draw' an 8.. That means it is OK and is given the signal to stop.. (by the way if you beat to fast there will be bubbles and hence it will create a moon like surface on d soap.. And we sure don want that.. So..we have to patiently stir it to avoid having the bubbles).. Then we pour it on to its mould and let it set for 30 days..

And Wah la!!

My soaps..

I have no idea why didnt my olive oil soap set in yet.. Even after 30 over days my soap is still sticky at d bottom.. Hmmmm...

Yes! I did it! :)

Time for a new hair style...

After 2 years with nearly the same hairstyle, now i am sick and bored with the current one.. So.... Ordinary.. I want it to be different..... In order to be different.. I Google and hunting for a new hairstyle..

One that caught my eye..
I think this looks mighty fine... only thing is that my locks are not that soft.. and i would need alot of time to do my hair every single day..

But that's a thought..

This is not bad... Big curls.... Love it!

I think this suits her... Wattabout me?

This is not bad also.. Y not something shorter?? *Hei a girl deserves to have more options*

I dunno... but i kinda like this hairstyle too..
:)

Or maybe this?? I Like this one too.. and it sure takes a long time b4 i get to where i am today..

Should i stick back with the classic ??

Lets visit the salon and see what my hairstylist have to say... :)

*I Hope i will look better :)
