Busier than ever!!

It's been so long since i last blogged. It's a shame that i'm not blogging so constant anymore or should i say not blogging at ALL (lol). There were times that i thought "u know i should really blog about this stuff" but in the end.. i forgot about it and went away doing my "chores".. Frequent trips to KL :) and Genting .. wow!!. i actually went up Genting the 2nd time this year..

Eventhough it's a term holiday now.. but i am busier than ever.. why? u ask?
PROM nite is just a week away!!! CONTEST DUE DATE IS THE DAY BEFORE!!!
It's a real pressure cooker... Contest.. contest... so many i think i lost count.. i have at least 5 in hand rite now!

I Pray that God will help me out.. by giving me WISDOM, KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING AND NOT FORGETTING FAVOUR FROM GOD AND MAN!!!!

It has been such a long time since i last blogged, it was during the holiday period that i started to blog.. and when it was time to go back to college.. i stopped blogging. And now.... (ten ten ten ten) it's actually the last day of my 2 weeks long holiday. I did skipped 2 or one holiday where i was suppose to blog but i didn't. Shameful, i need to be more productive.

I'm always so forgetful, i need to be reminded again and again.

I handed in my Nokia n96 yesterday.. unfortunately i will not be getting a new phone nor a replacement for me. The person from the mobile phone shop ordered some parts for the camera and will be changing it for me. According to him it is sent to the nokia centre in butterworth. At the mean time, i am using my old faithful back :)

After 2 years with nearly the same hairstyle, now i am sick and bored with the current one.. So.... Ordinary.. I want it to be different..... In order to be different.. I Google and hunting for a new hairstyle..

One that caught my eye..
I think this looks mighty fine... only thing is that my locks are not that soft.. and i would need alot of time to do my hair every single day..

But that's a thought..

Korean Fair @ Gurney Plaza

I was @ Gurney Plaza yesterday when i stumble upon the korean fair at the centre atrium. The had only a few stalls 2 that sells the Beverage, 1 on Fruits, 1 on Kim chi, 1 on dried food items like cookies, biscuit, candy and 1 one their 'maggi mee'. The fair just started yesterday...

This is how the booth looks like.. nothing too fancy..

I got myself a KIM CHI.. which costs a bomb.. RM37 for just 5 lil radish soaked in chillies.
Heck i don't get to buy them anywhere else in malaysia so.. I had to fork out that amount.. To my 'delight' it tasted bitter.. :(

I would not recommend buying this. But i think the cucumber would have been better.. Go and have a try, for your self !

Nokia Oh Nokia!! Oh Bother!!!!

I went over to Nokia Care Centre today to get my phone checked. I was calm, thank God i was not fuming away... otherwise.. it will turn ugly.. so.. i pass it over to the counter and told her of my problems :-

1) Phone's camera doesn't seem to work. It CANNOT FOCUS!! WHAT'S THE POINT OF HAVING A CAMERA THAT DOES NOT FOCUS AND IS OUT OF FOCUS AT ALL TIMES. DO REFER TO THE EARLIER BLOG AND EVIDENCE IS THERE FOR PROOF! I HAD THE HANDPHONE FOR LESS THAN A WEEK AND AND NOT SATISFIED WITH IT AT ALL. MIND YOU IT'S TOO PRICEY FOR A DEFECTIVE PHONE. H**L YEAH..
2) Navi wheel doesn't work either. What in the world is the navi wheel all about? Sad to say i can't even do anything with it and its already not working!!
3) It Lagssssssssssssssssssssssssssss..
4) It restarted itself for no reason.........
5) I sound like a robot in some of my callssss.... Frequently!!!

The person at the counter then took my phone away and was doing some checking and 10 minutes later she came out and told me that the phone is TOO NEW, THAT NOBODY HAS EVER TAKEN IT THERE FOR REPAIR WHATSOEVER AND THEY NEED TO DISSECT MY PHONE. AND THAT THEY CAN ONLY DO IT TOMORROW.

------------ MOST OF ALL, SHE CONFIRMED MY CAMERA ISN'T WORKING WELL------

I DEMAND FOR A NEW HANDPHONE... THEY BETTER CHANGE MY HANDPHONE WITH A NEW ONE!! NO MORE RETARDED 'happenings' for me!!! AND DON TEAR UP MY PHONE FOR ME AND VOIDING MY WARRANTY!! I WANT A NEW ONE A BRAND NEW ONE WITH A NEW IMEI!!!!

So... i went to the pharmacy.. :) Guardian Pharmacy.. and a nice looking pharmacist attended to me and what she recommended me was this lil bottle on the left. ( Thousand apologies! Photo taken with the xxxyyyzzz) So this is the outcome of it. :)

She told me it anti- something - mine so.. its for allergy and stuff.. The brand is NAPHCONtm A , Naphazoline Hydrochloride Pheniramine Maleate. 15ml..
I hope it cures!

* She said.. if i were to use the saline water.. will also do.. just to rinse off the "germs" or contamination...

It only cost me RM8.50 so.. it heals faster...

*pray for my healing ( eye, flu and cough)

Canon EOS 450D (Digital Rebel XSi / Kiss X2 Digital) Review
May 2008, Simon Joinson and Phil Askey

Review based on a production Canon EOS 450D

Four and a half years have passed since the first affordable digital SLR from Canon; the EOS 300D (Digital Rebel). In that time we have witnessed two further iterations (the EOS 350D and EOS 400D) leading up to today's fourth generation EOS 450D, with twice the megapixel count of the original (twelve versus six) in a smaller body with a far wider range of functionality and features and a $200 lower list price. Since those heady days in 2004 when the EOS 300D was the only kid on the block we've seen Nikon, Pentax and Olympus all attempt to hit the same sweet spot of size, features and price at the 'lower end' of the DSLR market, with varying degrees of success. Without a doubt the EOS 450D will have to do more today to prove itself in an increasingly crowded market.

A detailed breakdown of all of the changes and updates compared to the EOS 400D but the headlines are; a larger 3.0" LCD monitor, Live View with both passive and contrast detect AF, Spot metering, improved auto-focus, 3.5 fps continuous shooting a larger viewfinder and a switch SD/SDHC for storage (all previous cameras in this range were Compact Flash). Other features appear to be inherited from the EOS 40D; 14-bit image pipeline, Highlight Tone priority, optional High ISO noise reduction, 'My Menu' and display of the ISO sensitivity on the viewfinder status line. There's also the new stabilized kit lens (for review and samples click here).

Note that throughout this review we will refer to the EOS 450D by its European name; if you live in other parts of the world you'll know the camera by (in order of silliness) Rebel XSi or Kiss X2 Digital, but they're all the same.

What's new / changed (key points)

12 megapixel CMOS sensor The 450D features a new, 12.4 megapixel sensor. It has 12.2 million effective pixels. Further down the line, the A/D converter is capable of relaying 14 bit information to the camera's image processor or as a 14-bit RAW file. This should, in theory at least, offer smoother gradation steps in the final images.	SD / SDHC Card This is also the first entry-level Canon DSLR to use the Secure Digital format. It's a popular format with the compact digital camera owners Canon will be hoping to lure into DSLR ownership. SDHC is now available in similar sizes and speeds to the CF format used by the 300D, 350D and 400D.



Larger viewfinder A big step forwards for Canon's entry-level DSLR is the larger viewfinder. It's unlikely to be as bright as the ones found in Canon's XXD models because it uses mirrors, rather than a glass prism but in terms of magnification (size), it's almost on a par with the 30D which was a considerably more expensive camera. It's unusual to see viewfinder specs mentioned when comparing DSLRs but they can make a really big difference to usability.	Live view The 450D becomes the latest DSLR to include a live view mode. It includes a slow but potentially very accurate contrast detection AF method, which can be made the default for Live view. It also offers an optional live histogram to help with exposure and an' Exposure Simulation' indicator to confirm when the view on the screen represents the brightness of the final image.


Spot metering A regular criticism of Canon's Rebel range has always been the lack of a spot metering mode. Spot metering is a tool that many photographers find invaluable, particularly when setting manual exposures in difficult-to-capture high contrast scenes. Previously only available on XXD-level cameras, we're delighted to see spot metering appear on the 450D (central 4% of the frame).	Multi-shot self-timer mode The 450D gains the ability to take multiple shots each time the self-timer is used. If you're trying to appear in a group shot and don't want to have to keep running back to the camera, it could prove a really useful feature.


3.0" LCD One of the most obvious external differences between the 450D and its predecessor is the inclusion of a huge 3 inch LCD screen. It's got the same number of pixels as the one on the 400D (which means it's actually lower resolution), but, considering it doubles as the camera's settings screen, the extra size should be useful.	Verification data The 450D adds the "original decision data" option that cropped up on the 40D. This appends a piece of data in the image file, based on certain aspects of the original image. This data would no longer correspond if the image were changed, allowing users to prove the veracity of an image. (Which requires the OSK-E3 security kit)


Auto Lighting Optimizer A feature aimed at reducing the number of failed shots is the new 'Auto Lighting Optimizer.' This processes photos after they've been taken to try to correct exposure and contrast problems, though in our tests it had very little effect.	Highlight Tone Priority Another feature that has made its way down from the 40D is 'Highlight Tone Priority' which alters the way that the camera meters a scene. This means it captures and retains more information in the bright areas of the image at the risk of more noise in the shadows.


High ISO noise reduction Another feature trickling down from the 40D is the option to add an extra level of noise reduction when shooting at the camera's highest sensitivity settings. Comes at the expense of continuous shooting speed so has been made optional.	14-bit A/D converter The 450D's DIGIC III processor handles the sensor's data in 14-bit. Whether this makes any difference away from the spec-sheet is something we'll see when we get the chance to conduct more extensive testing.


Improved 9-point AF system Canon is claiming the AF system has been revised in the XSi / 450D. Certainly the AF chip appears to be different to the one we showed in the 400D review.	Larger, higher capacity, battery The 450D departs from its predecessors by using a new battery. The new, larger, LP-E5 battery has a capacity of 1080mAh, rather than 720mAh. This will be particularly useful given the greater power demands that live view brings.


My Menu Another feature inherited from its older brother, the 40D, is My Menu. This lets users group their most-used menu items into a personal list, for easy access. It's a feature we found surprisingly useful.	Revised user interface The status display has been freshened-up and is slightly easier to read. There are now four color schemes available. The 450D also gains the ability to show Speedlight settings on the screen for people working with external Canon flashguns.


ISO in viewfinder As well as making the viewfinder larger, Canon has found room to fit additional information into the viewfinder information bar. This, along with the sensibly-placed ISO button, gives you fewer reasons to have to take the camera away from your eye when shooting, which we applaud.	New battery grip Along with the restyled body comes a new battery grip. The BG-E5 gives the option of taking two LP-E5 batteries or 6 AA batteries, using a different slot-in insert. The grip fills the re-shaped battery bay which means these are instead of, not in addition to the normal battery and older grips are incompatible.

Sigh.... Newer model than my 400D.. *drooling*

D60 Vs D40X

Review based on a production Nikon D60

The D60 is the third incarnation of Nikon's compact, user-friendly entry-level SLR line that started back in 2006 with the D40 (which replaced the first Nikon 'starter' model, the D50). The original D40 was a hugely important camera for Nikon and can be given a lot of the credit for the resurgence in Nikon's fortunes at the volume end of the SLR market (which had been totally dominated by Canon since the launch of the EOS 300D / Digital Rebel). The D40's success (which continued long after the D40X made its swift appearance only 6 months later) isn't hard to explain; it was keenly priced, nicely designed and built and capable of excellent results. It was also a camera that proved cameras do not sell on megapixels alone (even at launch its 6MP resolution was far from 'class leading').

The D40X, which was positioned as a premium alternative to the D40 rather than its replacement, didn't mess around with the formula much at all; a new sensor with more (ten) megapixels and a lower base ISO, plus a slightly higher continuous shooting rate. The D60 is a direct replacement for the D40X (the D40 will stay around for a while as Nikon's budget option), and once again it's not a major upgrade; the sensor remains the same (though now has a dust reduction system) and the external design is almost identical. There's a few new features, including the same Expeed processing 'concept' seen in the D3 / D300, Active D-Lighting, an eye sensor (to control the screen display), and some tweaks to the interface, but perhaps the most significant change isn't to the camera at all; the move to an optically stabilized version of the kit lens.

Auto Focus only for AF-S or AF-I lenses

As with the D40 and D40X, the new D60 doesn't have an built-in focus drive motor which means it can auto focus only with lenses which have their own drive motor (AF-S and AF-I lenses). The lack of a drive motor can be seen by the missing mechanical focus drive pin on the lens mount (see images below). One of the D60's new features is an electronic rangefinder to help manual focus on non AF-S / AF-I lenses.

Swimming + contact lens = Red 3y3 ??

It was a very beautiful evening ... then it rained... then drizzled.. then thunder and lightning.. then it stopped and then it repeats itself again.. By then i was already at the pool with KLing. And so.. many a times.. when its time for swimming.. i must have my contact lens on.. and not forgetting the goggles (to prevent water from entering my eye, n losing my lens). For the very first time, i was told that if i do that.. i will get red eye, due to the contamination of some sort.. so.. i totally ignored that .. happy eating.. happy shopping... then when i got back home.. from the time i took off my lenses.. i took a turn to the worst.... my eyes were red.. irritating eyes... watery.. i had no idea it was all red.. and its itching too.. :(

For now, i am convinced that contact lens + swimming = R...e..d ... E...y...e...

So becareful.. :)

** SOS what can i do now to help me ease my eye irritation and redness?? Potato slice?? I dare not try!!

These pictures were taken with my Nokia N96.
To much of my disappointment, the picture quality is so bad that i feel like throwing away the phone. This is because my previous phone is N95, and as the number suggests(96) i assume it will be better as the number is higher and as a newer version i would definitely expect it to perform.

Better as it may seem, but i still do not like it. The purpose of taking these photos were initially because it was a new pencil case i acquired from my favourite outlet.. McDonald's!!

None the less, i am now in a rage with my phone. I just realised how lousy this phone is.. Macro mode is definately NOT USABLE!! DUH!! It does not perform it's duty as a macro mode.. USELESS!! Even my ex-Phone Nokia N90 does a better job than that. I would say it has the best macro mode there is to offer. The picture looks more realistic than Nokia N95.

I would say that the best macro mode is found in my ex-N90 and N95 is not too far off. Although N96 has 16GB of memory and better so-called entertainment features i am considering this as the 1st and only phone that i've ever complained so far. Never has this happened to me but this is one phone that i truly ... arghhhh!

Maybe it's the latest phone, maybe it's the price, maybe i've set my expectations too high..
Heck... it's not worth the money! The Phone lags.. with 16GB of space 30MB of RAM ( i assumed, coz wat's shown is 26.3MB n running on standby, music player, and contacts running).
Its so lagging that i can't turn my auto-rotate on.. it slows down even more.. Less than a week of usage.. my phone had already rebooted itself once.. for no reason.. there was an incoming call. The Joni called, it did not ring the 1st time n the second my phone hang and could not retrieve the call. arghhhh.. and the list of complaints goes on..

That's enough for now.

Lastly i manage to get 1 pretty nice photo outta it.. and it was an accident that i got that photo..

Five Finger Prayer

This is so neat. I had never heard this before. This is beautiful - and it is surely worth making the 5 finger prayer a part of our lives.

1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a 'sweet duty.'

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night.

5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, 'The least shall be the greatest among you.' Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

I was talking to a friend the recently and was talking about the Annual Penang Bridge Run.
This year the event will be held on the 16th of November.
CM and I am suppose to go for the half marathon, but at this moment of time i think i am unable to even complete the run. Reason being is that i run out of breath even climbing up a few flights of stairs. Haha.. However i still persevere.. I want to get into shape !!

Recently, i was on a short trip to KL and when i mean short it was really short . Back n forth in just .... (counting the hrs from 10pm to 6.30am) 8 1/2 hrs.. with a stop at KL's 1st Kayu somewhere in SS2.. No dinner and no supper.. it was a disappointment when i reached there. There wasn't anything left.. the chicken was as black as the charcoal.. dishes were looking as if it was near expiry.. So i rest my case that the NASI KANDAR in penang is still the best.. Pictures were not taken due to the instability of me to think str8 at the time of arrival.. and upon reaching to Penang.. i was still a lil daze and felt feverish after that.. I have not , not slept the whole nite... i will fall sick if i don't sleep well.. as always.. mummy is there to the rescue..
